Product Description

The Max 2 has a 2.5-metre recoil hose which gives superb reach and flexibility when you don't want to carry the tank. Place the tank on level ground and you can freely walk whilst spraying. Another advantage of a recoil hose is that it allows you to keep everything neat and tidy and you don't have to worry about trailing a long hose.

In addition, you have the option of an additional 5-metre hose. Simply swap the hoses, when required, and you can now move up to 5-metres from your tank. This can be very useful when spraying from a ladder as the tank can stand on the floor whilst you spray at height or just leave the tank in one place whilst you walk.

The sprayer is fitted with FPM seals meaning that it can handle many types of acidic chemicals and has, generally, better chemical resistance than those with NBR seals. The MAX 2 also benefits from a tank ullage (difference between total tank volume and filling capacity) of 3-litres which means a longer spray time between re-pressurising as the larger volume allows for the storage of more pressurised air. The build quality, of the Max 2, is very good when compared to comparably priced sprayers, meaning that it will handle more rough & tumble so professional users will also find this a good addition to their kit.

The ideal plant protection sprayer, the Max 2 can be used to treat all types of low cultures and shrubs in the home garden as well as an applicator for tree treatment as well as more advanced forestry work and weed control.

This sprayer can also be used with a compressor, meaning that you would have a constant supply of air with no pumping (see accessories above).

If you want to use this sprayer with either of our long telescopic lances (5.4-metre or 3.2-metre reach) then we have included them in the accessories section above. These lances are supplied complete with required connectors for use with this sprayer. If you purchase either of these lances elsewhere on this site then they may not include the required connectors.

FAQs

This just looks like another 5-litre sprayer why is it more expensive than some in your range but cheaper than others?

You get what you pay for. The price of a sprayer depends upon what features the sprayer has such as hose type, seals, internal coatings and connectors. It may not always be obvious what the differences are but our technical specifications should give much of the information for you. This particular sprayer is a very high specification for its type. It has the 2.5-metre recoil hose, FPM seals, pressure gauge and a 3-litre ullage which is well above average for this size of sprayer.

What does Tank Ullage mean?

Ullage is the name given to the gap between the maximum fill and the total tank capacity. It is important with sprayers as the larger the ullage is then the more space there is for compressed air. The more compressed air you have then the longer spraying time you have before you run out of pressure. This sprayer has an ullage of 3-litres which is very good for a sprayer with this size of tank.

Can this sprayer be used with your long telescopic lances?

Yes, the Max 2 compression sprayer can be used with either our 5.4-metre and 3.2-metre telescopic lances. We have included both lances in the accessories list both of which include all required connectors.

Can I use the Max 2 for spraying weedkillers?

You most certainly can use the Max 2 for the application of both weed killing and moss killing products. With weed killers you will find that the vast majority are liquids (all of the the weed killers within our range are liquids) and are pH neutral so the Max 2 is an ideal sprayer especially as it has pressure gauge so that you can monitor the exact spraying pressure to minimise wastage. With moss killing, it can be used with our Baticlean CR which is pH neutral but we would not recommend using with Batiface as this is an alkaline product which will cause damage to the brass lance.

Please explain the option for the additional hose

With the Max 2 sprayer, you have the choice of purchasing an additional 5-metre hose. The sprayer is supplied with a 2.5-metre recoil hose as standard. This is a very useful and practical hose which works very well for most spraying applications. However, some of our customers have found that a longer hose would be helpful especially when spraying from a ladder as the tank can be left on the floor. The additional hose is not a recoil design but is supplied with both tank and stop valve fittings meaning that the two hoses can be easily swapped when required.

Our Review

"I was looking for a good quality sprayer and a long lance. I phoned SPCB Mosskillers and was given some really helpful advice and recommendations for my project. The items recommended I purchased and was not disappointed, the Max 2 and 5-metre lance. I was sent a video on how to connect the lance and items came well protected. I have briefly tried the items and they appear excellent. Thank you SPCB Mosskillers I shall be back later for some moss killer. It has been a pleasure dealing with you."
