Pitched Roof

Moss Killing - Kill & remove moss from a pitched roofAs a rule it is always best to remove as much of the growth from the surface as possible either by brushing, lightly scraping or by using a small pressure washer. You should find that a vast majority of the growth can be removed in this way. If the roof as lichen coverage (that is difficult to remove) the whole area can be treated with RAPID MOSS & ALGAE KILLER - Batiface (or spot treated). Left for 30-60 minutes then washed off if it can be rinsed with a SMALL pressure washer then this will not just rinse the product but remove the dead growth at the same time.
Once the area is clean and dry then apply CONCENTRATED MOSS & ALGAE KILLER - Batimoss CR. This will kill any remaining growth and the spores and is designed to stay on the surface to inhibit re-growth. The surface can then be left and a new coat applied every 12-24 months or when the first signs of fresh growth appear.
Alternatively the area can be sealed with ROOF & WALL SEALER - Hydrosil which will prevent re-growth, water ingress weather damage, dirt etc. for up to 10-years. Once the roof is clean & dry (after the initial clean), it should be sprayed with either CONCENTRATED MOSS & ALGAE KILLER - Batimoss CR or A-CLEAN, to ensure the roof completly treated prior to applying the Hydrosil. |
